Lexul Field Service, a provider of field service management software, has introduced a Spanish-language version of its application. This move aims to better serve the substantial Hispanic workforce in the skilled trades industry, ensuring that language barriers do not hinder operational efficiency or worker productivity. Not only does Lexul Field Service have a Spanish translation, but Lexul Field Service has enabled this for all office and technician roles on the web and the mobile app, removing non-translated app limitations.
The construction industry, a huge part of the skilled trades, has seen a notable increase in Hispanic participation over the past decade. In 2022, Hispanic workers comprised 31.1% of the construction workforce, a rise from 23.6% in 2010. This growth highlights the increasing reliance on Hispanic labor within the sector. [1]
Furthermore, certain occupations within the skilled trades have even higher representations of Hispanic workers. For instance, in 2014, 32.3% of individuals in construction and extraction occupations were Hispanic or Latino. Geographically, states such as New Mexico, Texas, and California report that over 50% of their construction workforce is Hispanic. [2]
By looking at these demographics, Lexul Field Service’s decision to offer a Spanish-language version of its application is both timely and impactful. By providing software in Spanish, Lexul aims to enhance usability for Spanish-speaking technicians, reduce misunderstandings, and improve overall job output and performance.
